Bean Burgers

can of beans in tomato sauce |

grated sharp Cheddar cheese |

dry bread crumbs |

large egg, fork-beaten |

liquid gravy browner |

Soy sauce |
| 1/4 |

bulgur |
| 1/4 |
cup |
boiling water |
| 1 |

cooking oil |
| 1/3 |

margarine |

hamburger buns, split |

Mash beans in medium bowl.

Mix in cheese, bread crumbs, egg, gravy browner and soy sauce. Let
stand for 10 minutes.

Combine bulgur and boiling water in small bowl. Cover. Let
stand for 15 minutes. Add to bean mixture. Shape into patties,
using about 1/4 cup for each.

Heat cooking oil in frying pan. Add patties. Brown on both
sides.

Spread margarine on both halves of buns. Insert patties. Makes
