This is a no-fail recipe.
| 1 | pkg | dry yeast |
| 1/4 | C | hot water |
| 2-1/3 | C | unsifted flour - divided |
| 2 | tbsp. | sugar |
| 1 | tsp. | salt |
| 1/4 | tsp. | baking soda |
| 1 | C | sour cream |
| 1 | egg | |
| 1 | C | grated sharp cheddar cheese |
| 1/2 | tsp. | ground black pepper |
| melted butter |
Preheat oven to 350F.
Dissolve yeast in hot water in a large bowl.
Add 1-1/3 cup flour, sugar, salt, soda, sour cream and egg and blend 30 seconds on low speed.
Stir in remaining flour, cheese and pepper.
Divide batter evenly between 2 - 8x4 inch greased loaf pans.
Let rise about 1 hour or until doubled.
Bake 30 minutes.
Brush top lightly with butter.
